Sunday Short Theatre: Princess Rita (2020)
The aged old saying “True Love Finds You In the end” , does it? In this week’s Sunday Short Theatre Princess Rita a lonely man hopes love will come to him, maybe the other side of the world?
The world maybe big and access to every part of the globe is a lot easier. At the same time the world is smaller but it’s also a lonely place too.In Blair Waters award winning short film is that desire for human connection. A desire that can override everything in our lives and that loneliness exposes our fragility.
Princess Rita is a 10 minute film that stars Fedor Steer our lonely hearts member Alan. He lives his life alone in a hotel in Florida and works as an Insurance Adjuster. Alan does have an internet girlfriend named Rita he’s in love with her. she says she lives in a land far far away and is a princess he desires to be with he and adjusts his finances in order to bring her to him.
It looks like Alan maybe another victim of of a scam. When your desperate for love you always let your guard down. We only seem to hear Alan’s romantic virtues not Rita’s and what’s sad the few people in his network circle don’t trust Rita. It makes you wonder why no one has broken it gently to him he’s been scammed, then again maybe they have and he’s ignored them.
Fantastic little fan from Water, we love the fourth wall break from our protagonist too. Love makes as do silly things and the risk factor goes out the window.
A lonely insurance adjuster becomes consumed by his desire to meet his internet girlfriend, who claims to be a princess from a faraway country.
