We’ve been waiting for a long time for Stranger Things, but like many things delayed thanks to Covid-19. The wait is nearly over as the Netflix announce Season 4 release date…May.

After nearly two years of news and teasers for the upcoming season, it’s finally great to know when we’ll return to the upside down. Oh the good news. The new season is a big season and Netflix confirmed will be shown in two parts. Volume one set to arrive on the channel from 27th May with Volume two coming on 1st July. Now for the bad news…

Just like all good things, they must come to an end. The Duffer Brothers Matt and Ross in a open letter (see below), they confirmed there is going to be a 5th season which will be the final season. In this letter the brothers said when they where creating the popular Netflix series, there plan was only to have 4 or 5 seasons. That was seven years ago and everything is going to plan. The new seasons will bring Eleven’s story arc (Millie Bobby Brown), that also doesn’t mean the actual franchise will be ending after season 5.

Season 4 certainly looking like Stranger Things darkest season to date. The Upside Down may play an even bigger role next to showing that everyone is getting older and going there own ways. With the gang going their own ways, Season 4 will find itself in different locations too. Netflix have sent 4 location Posters each showing the characters in location, The Lab (return of Matthew Modine), California, Russia (David Harbour‘s story arc) and Creel House (which may include an iconic horror actor).

It’s been six months since the Battle of Starcourt, which brought terror and destruction to Hawkins. Struggling with the aftermath, our group of friends are separated for the first time – and navigating the complexities of high school hasn’t made things any easier. In this most vulnerable time, a new and horrifying supernatural threat surfaces, presenting a gruesome mystery that, if solved, might finally put an end to the horrors of the Upside Down.

The rest of the cast returning will be Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Priah Ferguson, Maya Hawke and Winona Ryder.

Stranger Things 4, Volume 1 will premier on 27th May. Stranger Things 4, Volume 2 premieres on 1st July both volume will be found only on Netflix. Season 5 release date still to be announced.
