Spider-Man Brand New Day: Tramell Tillman Role is a “Gift”
During the Golden Globes luncheon for first-time nominees, Tramell Tillman (Severance) teased his highly anticipated role in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
Whilst he remained tight-lipped about the specifics of his character, he confirmed that the opportunity fulfils a long-time personal goal. โI always wanted to be in that world. I used to watch DC Comics and Marvel all the time. To be a part of it is such a gift,โ he shared. Tillman also went on to talk about the experience of working on the project, saying, โI was treated lovingly. Everyone was wonderfulโ. It’s unknown at this stage who he’s playing with rumours suggesting he’ll be the new Head of the Damage Control Department alongside Tom Holland, who returns as Peter Parker.
The highly anticipated sequel continues Peter Parkerโs story following the events that erased his identity from the worldโs memory. In the new film, Peter attempts to step back from his life as Spider-Man to focus on college, part-time work, and rebuilding a sense of normalcy. However, when a new and dangerous threat puts his friends in harmโs way, he is forced to break that promise and suit up again.
In the same interview, he also discussed the importance of continued advocacy for the LGBTQ community. ย โWeโre being silenced and pushed apart,โ the star told Variety. โWe need more voices, we need more stories, we need more appearances, more presence across the board and not just in this country but around the world. Iโm glad to be a part of that movement and do whatever I can to support our community and uplift us, especially the trans community, because we need it.โ He continued, โWe have each other. Weโll get through it. We will push past this, and we will survive because we always do, and we always have.โ
The 83rd Annual Golden Globes will air on CBS and stream on Paramount+ in the United States on Sunday January 11th.
