Sonic Screwdrivers & McLovin Heading to The Fright Night Remake

Another classic Horror from the 1980’s which is lined up to be slaughtered is Fright Night. The original was more leaning towards comedy horror, but when you were 10 years old and saw those vampires, funny or not it delivered a few brown trouser moments; 1985 version
The cast has been building up with a few a/b lister names: Toni Collette (Muriel’s Wedding), Anton Yelchin (Star Trek Reboot), who will be the nerdy lead and Colin Farrell who’ll play the vampire badboy (with Collette his love interest). I’m sure there’s a few girls out there who would love Farrell munching at there necks, but there is are 2 other actor been lined up to join the cast; the master of the sonic screwdriver & McLovin aka David Tennent and Christopher Mintz-Plasse.
What parts will they play? Tennent’s part looks to be a little more obvious, he’ll probably be Peter Vincent, the part originally played by the legendary Roddy McDowell; he is a magican who used horror themes to perform his tricks, off course he presented the late night horror shows as well. If Tennent performs in the eccentric crazy (but smart) style he did when he was the doctor I can see him doing well, plus he can pick up some accents and not make it obivious he’s scottish (he’s not from glasgow but paisley like me & gerard Butler) but he did it well in Dr.who.
As for good old McLovin, the young actor who’ll live off his Superbad joke probably for the rest of his life, he will probably be Evil Ed who was played by Stephan Geoffrays (who disappeared of the face of the movie world appearing apparently in gay porn movies in 1990s as sam ritter). Well I do hope that’s not a route good ole’ McLovin will want to take after appearing in this remake!!!
Fright Night is due to be released in 2011.
