Some Things Should Stay Buried In Lee Cronin’s The Mummy Trailer

Warner Bros. Pictures has just dropped the official trailer for Lee Cronin’s The Mummy, an upcoming revisiting of one of the horror genre’s oldest and most iconic monsters, following his work on Evil Dead Rise.

A remake of the original 1932 horror film of the same title, starring screen legend Boris Karloff as the resurrected Egyptian priest Imhotep. The 2026 version follows a journalist and family who is broken after their daughter disappeared , only to return eight years later.

Lee Cronin’s film will feature Jack Reynor, Laia Costa, May Calamawy, Natalie Grace, and Veronica Falcón.

James Wan, Jason Blum and John Keville all work as producers for the film, which will be released under New Line Cinema, Atomic Monster and Blumhouse.

official synopsis | The young daughter of a journalist disappears into the desert without a trace—eight years later, the broken family is shocked when she is returned to them, as what should be a joyful reunion turns into a living nightmare.

The trailer hints at a family seeking answers, bodily distortion, possession, and non-stop supernatural suspense.
