Solo: A Star Wars Story Official Synopsis Revealed!

Like it or not Star Wars: The Last Jedi is loved by the majority of cinephiles and critics worldwide. You can also say it was one of the most divisive entries in the Star Wars franchise too. We won’t delve into what went right, what went wrong but the next Star Wars Spin-Off will be Solo: A Star Wars Story.

In just under 5 months time the second spin-off movie will be released in cinemas and Lucasfilm has revealed the official synopsis. When it comes to Star Wars movies, Lucasfilm does like to keep details very close to their chests. So it’s an unusual move at this stage of the promotion of the movie stage.

From the information revealed the plot teases it will delve into a “dark and dangerous criminal underworld“.The movie will also show the first time a young Hans Solo meets his giant Wookie friend, Chewbacca.

Here’s the official synopsis…

Board the Millennium Falcon and journey to a galaxy far, far away in Solo: A Star Wars Story, an all-new adventure with the most beloved scoundrel in the galaxy. Through a series of daring escapades deep within a dark and dangerous criminal underworld, Han Solo meets his mighty future copilot Chewbacca and encounters the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian, in a journey that will set the course for one of the Star Wars saga’s most unlikely heroes.

It’s great to see that this movie looks like it will focus a lot on the development of Hans (Alden Ehrenreich) character. Revealing probably a lot of those myths we heard about him in the original franchise, especially with Lando Calrissian (Donald Glover). This will mean will see the origin story for his ownership of the Millennium Falcon.

After all the stumbling blocks the movie suffered last year especially the sacking of Chris Miller and Phil Lord. Ron Howard stepped in for re-shoots, leaving us wondering what tone Solo may take as Millers and Lord’s tone was too comedic. Hopefully, the cast will deliver especially Ehrenreich who will be under pressure to deliver a perfect Young Hans Solo.

So could the trailer be around the corner? Probably, great chance that date might be during this year’s Superbowl. If there’s no trailer we might just be a little concerned.

Solo: A Star Wars Story is still due to be released in cinemas 25th May 2018.
