Short Sunday Theatre – Ringo

ringo-short

Life can be a lonely place we all deserve good company, intimacy but how far would you go if you were lonely? In Yaara Sumeruk’s darkly comedic short Ringo a middle aged Mother pays an male escort but not exactly in the way you may think.

Ringo despite the dark tone is actually a touching film a insight into the raw emotion of humans, the emotional state of both characters, check out the official synopsis…

A lonely middle-aged mother hires a young male prostitute for an evening. When intimacy overwhelms her, she has him role-play her son’s life, beginning with his birth…

Calling this a bizarre is an understatement but funny  as well but not in the belly out laughs more of the uncomfortable variety. Humans are not perfect, we’re fragile creatures and Ringo probably hits to close to the bone for some. Well crafted story delivers the right humour that showcases that we maybe seeing much more of Yaara Sumeruk in the near future in feature films.

Please note this film is for adult eyes only so be careful where you watch this!
