Sail The Seas In First Disney Moana Trailer

The old Disney magic returned to the animation wing with the brilliant Zootroplis, this December could the magic continue in Moana? Three thousand years ago the greatest sailors sailed the seas, in Disney’s final epic animated adventure for 2016 a young princess and demi god attempt to join that elite band of sailors. Starring the voice of none other than Dwayne Johnson as the Maui,a Demi-God a man mountain perfect character for Johnson. In the film’s first teaser the focus is on his character and his demi-god status like the animated Hercules movie and a guide and help for the tenacious titular character.

From Walt Disney Animation Studios comes Moana, a sweeping adventure about a spirited teenager who sails out on a daring mission to prove herself a master wayfinder and fulfill her ancestors’ unfinished quest. During her journey, Moana (voice of Auli’i Cravalho) meets the once-mighty demi-god Maui (voice of Dwayne Johnson), and together, they traverse the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous fiery creatures and impossible odds.

As promised by Johnson who is turning out to be one of the hardest working actors in Hollywood (endless projects on the go)via his social media the trailer was coming. Even though he isn’t the titular character he will be the box office pulling power for this movie. Visually stunning, Disney never let us down, with the spirit of Disney’s old days mixed with current tone.

Disney have continued the current quest to deliver positive strong female characters, adventurous and determined young girl. The studio wanted to make the film as authentic as possible, with auditions through the Pacific Islands, three auditions later the talented first timer Auli’i Cravalho got the role.

Moana is directed by duo Ron Clements and John Musker (Little Mermaid/Aladdin) with Zootropilis scribe Jared Bush, author Pamela Ribon and Taika Waititi(What We Do In The Shadows’) also helping out. The film includes the voices of. Alan Tudyk and Philippa Soo.

Moana arrives in UK 2nd December.
