Josh and Benny Safdie‘s might just be that film that will eradicate all his cinematic sins, Good Time. A crime thriller that finds a man desperate to save his brother after a botched robbery on the mean streets of New York.
Curzon Artificial Eye has now released the UK Trailer and you’ll see it’s very hypnotic, neon-drenched and our one-time vampire at his grittiest, grimmest for a very long time.
The young British actor looks to have certainly earned his stripes to be called a serious certified actor. Debuting at Cannes earlier this year nearly earning him the best actor award. He’s worked his socks off to be taken seriously working with a diverse range of directors from David Cronenberg, David Michôd and Anton Corbijn. Even if some of those movies weren’t a critical success, he’s been one of the positive lights. Like his one-time Twilight star Stewart, the independent film route has been the best way. Always unconventional characters, perfect for this movie. As they say, we’re our own masters of our destiny and downfall and in Good Time his character is that master.
After a botched bank robbery lands his younger brother in prison, Constantine “Connie” Nikas (Robert Pattinson) embarks on a twisted odyssey through the city’s underworld in an increasingly desperate – and dangerous – attempt to get his brother Nick (Benny Safdie) out of jail. Over the course of one adrenalised night, Connie finds himself on a mad descent into violence and mayhem as he races against the clock to save his brother and himself, knowing their lives hang in the balance.
