Rebellion Brings Hope In New Rogue One: A Star Wars Story TV Spot

Rogue One Felicity Jones

In Just over 4 months time Disney/Lucasfilm will deliver the first anthology Star Wars movie, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story when it arrives mid-December. After the re-shoots, things seem to be on track and today we get a glimpse at the new upcoming film’s first TV Spot, check it out….

We’ve not had a complete synopsis from Disney yet but this is what they have gave us… Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is the first film in the new standalone movies from Lucasfilm. It tells the story of how a group of unlikely heroes unite to undertake a daring and seemingly impossible mission to steal the plans for the Death Star.

The new spot doesn’t really unveil any new footage that hasn’t been seen in the Trailer or sizzle reel, more us taking another step on the ladder of reality that this is really happening! There is however a large nod to the original 1977 film here aka ‘A New Hope’ which we know we can expect an odd original character potentially popping up with Darth Vader been the biggest possibility. The story also ties into the original too with ‘rebels’ giving us that ‘new hope’ against the Empire, prints that R2-D2 revealed to Hans Solo, Leila and Luke.

Whilst this film maybe touching ‘old ground’ director Gareth Edwards has been given the freedom to explore new worlds, territories or even ones we may have heard off in the original but never saw them on the big screen.

Let’s be honest Summer 2016 hasn’t be the best of summers so a little look ahead might be the best way to focus on what’s to come rather than what we wanted to see. April is when we caught Rogue One: A Star Wars Story first trailer, so the new trailer is due. If you where lucky to attend Star Wars Celebration you will have seen it.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is set to arrive in cinemas in UK, Ireland and USA on 16th December. Also starring Mads Mikkelson, Alan Tudyk, Riz Ahmed and Chinese superstars Donnie Yen, Jiang Wen.
