Travis Scott Revealed in New TV Spot for Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey
News that no one really saw coming. As confirmed by Dark Horizons, in a new TV spot of Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey during a US sports broadcast, we got a surprise first look at Travis Scott in the film. This new teaser offered us the first indication that the rapper and musician is even involved within the project, which had not been previously announced.
The TV spot included a few familiar scenes from the already released teaser as well as prologue, but also some newer scenes, in this case a scene set at a banquet, where Travis Scott is seen alongside Tom Holland who plays telemachus and Jon Bernthal’s Menelaus. We see Scott deliver a line referencing the events of the Trojan war, however we have still not been made aware of any details in regards to which character he is playing and how significant his role is.
Though this is Scott’s first acting appearance in a Nolan film, the two of them have previously worked together on Tenet, as Scott contributed music to the 2020 film. Suggesting that Scott’s appearance in The Odyssey is a result of their continued creative relationship.
The reaction online to this news has been of course, surprise and shock, with many speculating about how Scott may fit into this role and Nolan’s adaptation of Homer’s epic poem.
The Odyssey marks Nolan’s first foray into mythological storytelling, following the journey of Odysseus after the Trojan War. Matt Damon stars as Odysseus, with Tom Holland playing his son Telemachus and Anne Hathaway as Penelope. The ensemble cast also includes Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Charlize Theron, Lupita Nyong’o, Elliot Page, Benny Safdie, Himesh Patel, Mia Goth and John Leguizamo.
The film is currently scheduled for a wide theatrical and IMAX release on 17th July . With each new piece of footage, anticipation continues to build around Nolan’s next project, and Scott’s unexpected appearance has added another talking point as audiences await a full trailer.
