Rami Malek Set To Play Bond 25 Villain No Title Confirmed Yet

The rumours have been travelling around the internet for a while now, but today Rami Malek has been confirmed as the cast for Bond 25. He will play the villain for the film which will officially start principal photography, this Sunday 28th April.

The film announcement and cast details was officially in Jamaica to the villa where Ian Fleming created the iconic character. It was also the setting for scenes from Dr No and Live And Let Die were filmed were filmed too.

Director, Cary Joji Fukunaga confirmed the returning cast, Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Rory Kinnear, Léa Seydoux, Ben Whishaw, Jeffrey Wright and introduced Ana de Armas, Dali Benssalah, David Dencik, Lashana Lynch, Billy Magnussen and Rami Malek.

The director also confirmed James Bond himself Daniel Craig who will play the character for the fifth time, it will be his last time in the iconic role.

Details of whom Malek will be playing are still to be announced. The actor was unable to attend the launch in Jamaica due to filming the next series of Mr.Robot in New York. He did comment via a video clip “I promise you all I will be making sure James Bond won’t be having an easy ride,”.

Frustratingly no Film title has been announced just yet.

Here’s the confirmed synopsis

Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica. His peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.

The 007 production will be based at Pinewood Studios in the UK, and on location in London, Italy, Jamaica and Norway.

Fleabag star Phoebe Waller-Bridge will be working on the screenplay for the film with director Cary Joji Fukunaga. Alongside Neal Purvis & Robert Wade, Scott Z. Burns.

Metro Goldwyn Mayer will release the 25th James Bond feature film domestically through their United Artists Releasing banner on April 8, 2020; through Universal Pictures International and Metro Goldwyn Mayer in the UK and internationally from April 3, 2020.
