Planet 51: Featurette & Tv Spots

I havent heard much about the animation Planet 51 for a while and we have a new featurette and tons of TV spots.

Planet 51 is an animation about American astronaut Captain Charles “Chuck” Baker (Dwayne Johnson) lands on Planet 51 thinking he’s the first person to step foot on it. To his surprise, he finds that this planet is inhabited by little green people who are happily living in a white picket fence world, and whose only fear is that it will be overrun by alien invaders…like Chuck!

The Featurette is the usual behind the scenes look at the making of the movie which includes interview extracts from much of the cast including Dwayne Johnson, Sean William Scott and Justin Long. The main thing about this featurette is the new footage you will see, as with the tv spots I always treat them as new mini trailers.

What I like about this about is it actually pays homage to some of the classic sci-fi movies like Aliens (xeno-morph pet “dog” the aliens have) but they do it in a funny way so this may appeal to the adults. The other thing I like about this is the superb cast it has, the names I havent mentioned are Jessica Biel, Gary Oldman and John Cleese.

Animations always do well during the buid-up as well as the festive season and I think this will do well as it’s released on December 4th in UK/Ireland.
