Penelope Cruz To Be Bond Girl in James Bond 24?

After last weeks news that Sam Mendes after all maybe directing not just James Bond 24 but possibly James Bond 25 too which is very exciting news as Skyfall brought credibility back to the longest running spy franchise. James Bond 24 might be a few years away but it seems that behind the scenes the first piece of the movie 24 jigsaw has been placed and the film may have it’s first Bond Girl, Penelope Cruz.

Yahoo! Movies UK is reporting that the Oscar winning Spanish actress will be the first new recruitment to the film though there’ been no official confirmation. Ironically Cruz does have an connection to Skyfall as she happens to be the wife of Javier Bardem and if she can deliver the same charisma as her hubby we may have another exciting Bond film on the cards.

If she does become a Bond Girl Penelope Cruz will be officially the oldest Bond Girl to date which is fine by us as she’s sexy, confident and  she maybe approaching the big 40 but her age will be appropriate to Daniel Craig who happens to be 45.Reports say producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson have been trying for a longtime to get the actress onboard but scheduling has prevented her coming onboard but it now looks like they might get her onboard.

She is an fantastic choice and will bring an extra slice of elegance, confidence to hold her own against 007. If your disappointed that no one younger has been linked previous films proof they’ll be more sexy Bond Girls to come and I’m sure a few younger actress will go weak at the knees of the world’s greatest fictional spy! James Bond has matured over the years so why can’t the leading ladies of Bond’s world mature too?

Long way away before things get confirmed with the 24th Bond film dues to star filming Summer 2014 with a Winter 2015/early 2016 release date.
