Paul W.S Anderson To Direct A Mimic TV Series Reboot?

Mirmax Television have announced Guillermo Del Toro‘s 1997 horror Mimic is to get a TV Reboot.ย  Deadline have broke the newsย  which also said Paul W.S Andersonย  is set to direct the Pilot episode.

The report states the Resident Evil director will be the shows executive producer with Jermey Bolt his regular producing partner. The series showrunnerย  will be Jim Danger Gray who has worked on Hannibal as well as Orange Is The New Black.

The Guilermo Del Toro film is based on Donald A. Wollheimโ€™s short story of the same name. Mimic revolves around genetically engineered insects who evolve, and grow to astonishing size .Developing the ability to mimic their human prey, forcing humanity into the race to stop them from taking over.The film starred Mira Sorvino with Josh Brolin.

Despite the negative criticisms of Resident Evil franchise, it still earned over $1 billion.Money talks, and if there’s one gleaming light from his films is Event Horizon.

At this point we have no word on what TV networks may buy this show, but like any new show they’ll go on a shopping spree.
