Obey Or Leave In UK Trailer For Concrete Utopia Starring Lee Byung-hun

We do love an disaster film, in April Blue Finch Films will deliver one, Concrete Utopia. Ahead of it’s UK Release, today we get a look at the Korean dystopian thriller UK Trailer…Want to survive, obey or leave!

The film was released in 2023 in South Korea and was the country’s official entry for the Oscars. The film is based on webcomic from Kim Soong-Nyoong called ‘Yukwaehan Yiwoot‘. Directed by Uhm Tae-Hwa (Vanishing Time: A Boy Who Returned), starring Lee Byung-hun (Squid Game, I Saw The Devil),Park Seo-joon (The Marvels, Parasite).

We’ve seen many disaster films, this has a unnerving tone pushing survivors into a Dystopian nightmare. In Concrete Utopia, Seoul is reduce to ruins thanks to an devasting earthquake, one apartment block survives. Crisis unfolds around the block, survivors on ground attempt to seek refuge in the building with more danger yet to come.

Rules of survival for those who have lived: Obey the regulations, or leave.

When an earthquake reduces almost all of Seoul to smoking ruins, miraculously one building remains standing; Hwang Gung Apartments. Surrounded by destruction, the survivors try to restore order but as outsiders begin to seek refuge the residents soon realise that the real disaster is yet to come.

South Korea’s entry for the 2024 Oscar for Best International Feature, Concrete Utopia is a riveting new disaster epic starring Lee Byung-hun (Squid Game, I Saw The Devil) and Park Seo-joon (The Marvels, Parasite).

The film also stars Park Bo-young, Kim Sun-young and Nam Jin-bok.

Concrete Utopia is on UK and Ireland digital platforms from 1st April.
