New Star Trek Beyond Trailer Is A ‘Sledgehammer’ Of Destruction

Star Trek Beyond Scotty

3 weeks before the film arrives in UK cinemas, Paramount have unleashed a new (probably final) UK trailer for Star Trek Beyond. A trailer that hints the next adventure on that infamous 5 year mission will be a ‘Sledgehammer’ of destruction! As Idris Elba stalks the most famous spaceship in sci-fi folklore the Enterprise may once again be annihilated

The action looks epic, intriguing the new promo also introduces us to Rihanna‘s new song Sledgehammer giving the film it’s modern edge. However the song might not please some hardcore fans who may like a more traditional tune in the franchises landmark anniversary, our suspicions this song might be more a post credits tune!

In Star Trek Beyond the Enterprise is in the middle of it’s 5 year mission to explore the galaxy and boldly go where no one has gone before. As the crew try to decide where next on that mission things suddenly go wrong  when they confront new unknown baddie Krall (Idris Elba) who is against all that Federation Of Planets (aka Starfleet) stand for. The attack find s the crew scrambling to a nearby planet, scattered everywhere could mean the crew attempt to re-unite with each other to regain control of the Enterprise.

This new  3rd trailer certainly  plays up on this film will delve deeper into Kirk’s journey (Chris Pine) of self-exploration as he tries to make his own mark on the world. The trailer doesn’t reveal anything spoilerish, but the Enterprise are in big soapy bubbles. Everything looks wonderfully exciting as Krall’s armada of ships are like swarms destroying every inch of The Enterprise forcing the crew to evacuate to a nearby unknown planet. Like it or not the explosive action is the must for action themed films but the philosophical and moral questions will always still be there. Last week’s ‘Brexit’, the trouble in Middle East show the current climate is fragile and The Federation(allegory of UN, even EU?)shows similar climate it’s relationship too are fragile.

Star Trek Beyond is set to arrive in UK, Irish and U.S cinemas from 22nd July. Also starring  Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, John Cho, Anton Yelchin, Joe Taslim, Sofia Boutella.
