With only two months to go before Jupiter Ascending hopefully hits our screens, new character posters and an extended TV spot have been released.  The science fiction film made by Lana and Andy Wachowski, was originally due to be released in July this year, but Warner Bros. pushed it back to a later release date in order to finish the multitude of special effects.  The space opera, starring Mila Kunis and Channing Tatum, follows the Wachowski’s previous film Cloud Atlas in promising a unique visual style and tone, but hopefully won’t divide critics and film goers as much as Cloud Atlas did.
Synopsis: Jupiter Jones (Kunis) was born under a night sky, with signs predicting that she was destined for great things. Now grown, Jupiter dreams of the stars but wakes up to the cold reality of a job cleaning other people’s houses and an endless run of bad breaks. Only when Caine (Tatum), a genetically engineered ex-military hunter, arrives on Earth to track her down does Jupiter begin to glimpse the fate that has been waiting for her all along—her genetic signature marks her as next in line for an extraordinary inheritance that could alter the balance of the cosmos.Â
The new TV Spot serves as an update to the original trailer, and certainly reflects the epic scale promised.
As well as Kunis and Tatum, the film also stars Sean Bean, Eddie Redmayne, Douglas Booth, James D’Arcy, Doona Bae, Vanessa Kirby, and Christina Cole, and is set for release in UK cinemas on 6th February.
