New Moana 2 Featurette Looks At ‘The Music of Motunui’

We’re only 7 days away from sailing the mythical shores of Disney‘s Moana 2. Disney have sent us a new Featurette all about the music from the film.

The 3 minute behind the scenes featurette is entitled ‘The Music of Motunui‘. In this promo we hear from songwriters Abigail Barlow, Emily Bear who with Opetaia Foa‘i and Mark Mancina who all involved in creating the film’s score.

Music is always such an important part of all of our stories, whether it’s a musical or not,” said producer Yvett Merino. “‘Moana 2’ is a stunning, sweeping musical. Its songs help move the story forward in such a special way and the score is so dynamic. It has been such a great experience.”

The musical legacy leading up to “Moana 2” is profound—the team was deeply inspired by the characters, world and music.” Said director Jason Hand, “The music in this film will make you laugh, it will make you think. It’s going to set up camp in your mind. It’s truly unforgettable.”

Walt Disney Records will release the Moana 2 Deluxe Soundtrack on Monday 25th November.

Walt Disney  Animation Studios’ epic animated musical Moana 2 reunites Moana (voice of Auli‘i Cravalho) and Maui (voice of Dwayne Johnson) three years later for an expansive new voyage alongside a crew of unlikely seafarers. After receiving an unexpected call from her wayfinding ancestors, Moana must journey to the far seas of Oceania and into dangerous, long-lost waters for an adventure unlike anything she’s ever faced. Moana 2 features music by Grammy® winners Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear, Grammy nominee Opetaia Foa’i, and three-time Grammy winner Mark Mancina.

Moana 2 stars the voice talents of   Uli’i Cravalho and Dwayne Johnson as Moana and Maui. Next to Alan Tudyk (Hei Hei), haleesi Lambert-Tsuda (Simea), Rachel House (Gramma Tala), Temuera Morrison (Chief Tui) and Nicole Scherzinger (Sina), as well as Hualālai Chung, David Fane and  Rose Matafeo (Moni, Kele and Loto), plus  Awhimai Fraser  (Matangi) Gerald Ramsey (Tautai Vasa).

The wait is nearly over, the film is in UK, Irish cinemas on  29th November.
