New DC Lanterns Trailer Unveils The Antagonists
This is more than a feeling...
Last night at San Diego Comic Con, HBO unearthed the official Full Trailer for DC Studios Lanterns. A trailer that unveils the Green Lantern spin-off series villains and the first proper footage.
Kyle Chandler plays the legendary Hal Jordan with Aaron Pierre as The Corps new recruit John Stewart. In Lanterns the pair might be intergalactic cops but they are drawn into a murder case in the American Heartlands. On paper this looks another straightforward inquiry the pair learn that it might be more ‘alien’.
The Green Lantern (Ryan Reynolds) was a mess of a film. Even compared todays CGI standards it feels dated, this show is part of James Gunn‘s DC Universe. Creature Commandoes and Superman kicked his DC era off strongly only to hit a bump in the road with Supergirl. The series present a total new ball game and so far this looks positive . A good look at Sinestro (Thomsen) and The Manhunters, the robotic peacekeepers the Green Lantern Corps replaced.
The rest of the cast includes Kelly Macdonald, Garret Dillahunt, Nathan Fillon, Poorna Jagannathan, Jason Ritter, Ulrich Thomsen, J. Alphonse Nicholson, Jasmine Cephas Jones, Sherman Augustus, and Paul Ben-Victor.

HBO Max will premiere DC Studios Lanterns in the UK and Ireland on 17th August.
