New Ben-Hur UK Trailer ‘Cuts To The Chase’

Ben Hur Judah

When we look at the blockbusters of today and compare them to blockbusters of the days gone by, there’s very few films that can match them in every category. In 1959 Charlton Heston starred in the epic Ben-Hur which delivered in scale, action and excitement. In September, Timur Bekmambetov will be hoping he’s done enough to deliver his version something he’s aiming to match the action in scale and hopefully over time be regarded as a ‘classic’ in it’s own way.

Today Paramount Pictures have sent us a short but action packed UK Trailer that focuses on the film’s star attraction, the chariot races. If we go by what we’ve seen on the trailers, looking good to be the star again!

Are you ready to defy an empire? The revolution begins here in the new trailer for Ben-Hur. A film that might not boast a near 4 hour running time like 1959 but one more 2 hours. Bekmambetov promises his film will be based more on the book but our concern is the film might be relying heavily on the Chariot race rather than overall. Been a director whose renowned for heavy usage of CGI which seems to bloat many films these days however director has said he’s used practical effects too . We have hope this will deliver!

Ben-Hur is the epic story of Judah Ben-Hur (Jack Huston), a prince falsely accused of treason by his adopted brother Messala (Toby Kebbell), an officer in the Roman army. Stripped of his title, separated from his family and the woman he loves (Nazanin Boniadi), Judah is forced into slavery. After years at sea, Judah returns to his homeland to seek revenge, but finds redemption. Based on Lew Wallace’s timeless novel, Ben-Hur: A Tale of the Christ.

Ben-Hur has a new UK &Irish  release date which is now 7th September. The film also stars Morgan Freeman, Rodrigo Santoro Sofia Black D’Elia, Ayelet Zurer, Moisés Arias, Marwan Kenzari and Pilou Asbæk.
