“I’m Oceanic Motherf*cker!” screams Dwayne Johnson’s character and if your first thoughts on Baywatch movie was going to be run of a mill popcorn movie. In the new second UK Trailer for Baywatch, The ‘Great One’ inserts some of his ‘franchise viagra’, shows off his Slo-mo running, drops some classic one liners. There is, of course, lots of babes in bikinis deliver some laughs and sex appeal to blast those midweek blues away.
When the TV version was the heart and soul of 1990’s Saturday primetime viewing, it may have had the ‘beautiful people’, it was also the butt of many jokes. Some say it had more cheese on display than your local supermarket, there was a certain 90’s ‘babe’ Pamela Anderson who did wonders to the circulation of Playboy Magazine. 16 years after the last ever episode, the news of the big screen version was treated with derision but since the trailer, the attitude towards the film has changed. Changed drastically from ‘family friendly’ to Meta humour, crude, language that would make your Great Aunt Regina over do it on the Zantac. The trailer drops a few naughty words, lots of bounce, running and when you think of it been a 15 rated movie it’s grown with the audience?!
Baywatch follows devoted lifeguard Mitch Buchannon (Johnson played by the Hoff in the original) as he butts heads with a brash new recruit Matt Brody (Zac Efron played by David Charvet on TV). A swimmer in need of some positive Pr whose egos clash but together, they uncover a local criminal plot that threatens the future of the Bay.
Baywatch is set for a 29th May UK&Irish Cinema release date , co-starring Priyanka Chopra, Kelly Rohrbach, Jon Bass, Hannibal Buress, and Rob Huebel.
