The journey for the ultimate gaming film adaptation continues and the next challenge lies with Assassin’s Creed, can it succeed? E3 is currently in full swing and at the conference Ubisoft and 20th Century Fox have unveiled a new behind the scenes featurette. The new promo includes interviews with the star of the film Michael Fassbender and director Justin Kurzel as well as fresh new footage to feast your eyes on!
Assassin’s Creed we meet Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender) and estrange violent man on death row, who through a revolutionary technology that unlocks his genetic memories, he descended from 15th Century Assassins. Thanks to an device called Animus he experiences the adventures of his ancestor, Aguila who also a member of a mysterious secret society, the Assassins, and amasses incredible knowledge and skills to take on the oppressive and powerful Templar organization in the present day.A fight for humanity begins.
The film’s trailer was solely focused on our protagonist Lynch/Aguilla but what we get in this promo is our first looks at Michael K.Williams and Brendan Gleeson. You get teased with some of the big epic set pieces that Fassbender describes as ‘Massive’. Whilst we know this won’t be a straight up adaptation of the original video game we do glimpse at enough evidence that will keep fans of the original happy. I’m not going to boast I know alot about this popular gaming franchise, which I don’t. I have optimism in this film will deliver or at least become the strongest of the gaming films. Compared to Warcraft the world the game is set in is alot more straight forward  (even though the mythology is multi-layered)which will appeal to non gamers like myself.

Assassin’s Creed will arrive in UK&Ireland from 26th December. The film also stars Marion Cotillard, Jeremy Irons, Brendan Gleeson,Michael K. Williams and Ariane Labad.
