Watch new American Sniper featurette

Ahead of its release on Friday, a new featurette has been released for Clint Eastwood’s latest directorial outing, American Sniper. The film is based on the best-selling autobiography from sniper, Chris Kyle, and had been passed through a few directors including Steven Spielberg, and David O’Russell before landing in the capable hands of Clint Eastwood.

Bradley Cooper plays Kyle, the most lethal sniper in US military history. He fights in Iraq and successfully protects his fellow fighters, until the other side feel the effects of his sharp shooting skills, and put a price on his head. The film follows Kyle as he balances the dangers of his life in Iraq, whilst trying to sustain a positive relationship with his wife (Sienna Miller) and children, even though he is halfway across the world.

The featurette delves a bit deeper into the man behind the story, focussing on footage of Kyle’s real wife, who offers an insight into the man behind the legend. American Sniper looks to be a truly riveting film, with a committed performance by Cooper, who also serves as producer on the film, and gained around 40 pounds in weight to portray the ex-navy seal.
