Cracking Hollywood or even just getting your 15 minutes of fame is no easy feat but every day, every reality or X-factor style programme people attempt to conquer the malaise despite the short cummings  of many who have tried and failed. With Toronto Film Festival up next before it’s UK release Canada’s finest schlock master will attempt to open our eyes that the Glam life comes with baggage.

In Map To The Stars we meet The Weiss family are an archetypical Hollywood dynasty – Dr Stafford Weiss (John Cusack) is a psychotherapist whose self-help books have made him a fortune. His wife Cristina (Olivia Williams) is the overbearing mom-ager of their thirteen-year old son, Benjie (Evan Bird), a prodigious child star fresh out of drug rehab and their estranged daughter Agatha (Mia Wasikowska) has recently been released from a psychiatric hospital. Agatha is now back in Hollywood making friends with a wannabe actor/writer limo driver named Jerome (Robert Pattinson) and with a new job as PA to one of Stafford’s clients – the neurotic and tempestuous actress Havana Segrand (Julianne Moore), whose dream of reprising her dead mother’s starring role from the 1960s is beginning to haunt her.

So remember kids before you decide you want to jump on the celebrity bandwagon head to Tinseltown that life at the end of the rainbow ain’t always a nice one. There will come a time you may resort to desperate measures or find find yourself damaged beyond repair , get yourself a good Shrink too!

Map To The Stars arrives in UK cinemas from 26th September before then it will be at Toronto Film Festival which stars next month. The film stars Julianne Moore, Robert Pattinson, Mia Wasikowska, John Cusack, Olivia Williams, Sarah Gadon, and Evan Bird.
