Mutiny Trailer Sees Jason Statham Out For Revenge
Sky Original and Lionsgate have just dropped the trailer for the upcoming Jason Statham action thriller, Mutiny, by director Jean-François Richet, who works from a script penned by Lindsay Michel and J. P. Davis.
Peaky Blinders’ Annabelle Wallis, The Gentlemen’s Jason Wong, Atomic Blonde’s Roland Møller, The White Lotus’ Arnas Fedaravicius and Trigger Point’s Adrian Lester also star.
Mutiny’s premise reads: “After witnessing his billionaire boss’ murder and being framed for the crime, Cole Reed boards a cargo ship on a one-man crusade to avenge his boss’ death, only to discover an international conspiracy.”
“We are delighted to be working with Jason Statham again after the incredible success of THE BEEKEEPER. Our audience loves premium action films and MUTINY delivers on every level,” Sky’s Head of Original Film, Andrew Orr, has stated. “It is a fast‑paced, high‑stakes thriller driven by an exceptional creative team, making it a perfect addition to Sky’s Original film slate.”
Richet’s additional credits include Inner City, which was nominated for Best First Feature Film at the 21st César Awards, his remake of John Carpenter’s Assault on Precinct 13, The Emperor of Paris and Plane. Meanwhile, Statham is one of the action and crime genres’ faces, with appearances in Snatch, The Bank Job, The Expendables film series and Fast and Furious 6 and 7, and has become one of the industry’s key bankable stars thanks to his total gross of $1.5 billion.
Statham also produced the film for his company Punch Palace Productions, with Marc Butan co-producing for MadRiver Pictures.
Mutiny hits cinemas on August 21st.
