As (im)patiently await the first trailer for Alejandro G. Iñárritu‘s next film Digger, MUBI want to takes us back to the beginning. His landmark debut feature, Amores Perros celebrates it’s 25th Anniversary this year and next month the boutique distributor will exclusively stream a new 4K restored version on their channel.
The film kicked off not just his own career internationally, his one time regular DoP Rodrigo Prieto and film’s lead actor Gael García Bernal. Amores Perros is layered exploration of love, loss, violence and fate lives of the people of Mexico City. Nowadays 25 years on the films themes are impactful in any city or town in the world.

Synopsis | Set against the backdrop of Mexico City, Amores Perros unfolds through three interconnected stories brought together by a devastating car accident.
