Voyage of Time

After many many MANY years gathering dust, Terrence Malick‘s Voyage Of Time will get a global 4K release on MUBI. The boutique streaming service have released a new trailer and the news it’s Digital Premiere will be 17th December and in 4K!

Marking Malick’s first foray into documentary filmmaking, Voyage of Time is an astounding celestial experience – a hymn to the glories of nature, life and scientific discovery that sees him achieving the impossible: depicting the beginning, middle and potential end of time.

Terrence Malick is a filmmaker of very few words, similar in regards to films when you see how long he’s been going. I think we can say this film has been a passion project for him, with talk that the film has been in the making since the 1970’s. Now it’s days away, the film has apparently deleted scenes from Tree Of Life. The film did make a rare appearance in a IMAX screen at Toronto Film Festival, next week it’s the rest of the world.

Narrated by Brad Pitt, this is a one-of-a-kind celebration of existence and the grand history of the cosmos, transporting audiences into a vast yet up-close-and-personal odyssey that spans the eons from the Big Bang to the dinosaur age to our present human world, and beyond. Combining research from leading scientists with breathtaking imagery from BAFTA-nominated VFX master Dan Glass – some taken from NASA space probes – the film’s panorama of awe-inspiring visuals takes you into the heart of monumental events never witnessed before, from the origins of the stars and galaxies to the explosion of diverse life-forms on planet earth, including humankind.

Terrence Malick’s Voyage of Time: An IMAX Documentary, will be available to stream globally (excluding China, Japan, CIS, Baltics) in 4K on MUBI from 17th December.
