Let The Ritual Begin With The Craft: Legacy UK Trailer

The Craft_ Legacy (2020)

When it comes to films, remake is one dirty word many cinephiles do not like. The 1996 film The Craft is a cult horror loved by many the mere talk of a remake is sacrilegious. 24 years later Sony Pictures Releasing have released the Official UK (international) Trailer for The Craft: Legacy and it’s not a reboot it’s a sequel!

Fans of the original film was notice there’s a big familiarity with new film, especially in the narrative. It promises a fresh twist on the original, with Hannah (Cailee Spaeny) the new girl in school who is picked on by the schools bullies. Three girls from her class approach her to gain revenge on those bullies, gradually inviting her into their ‘witches coven’.

The original film saw Robin Tuney as the new girl in town and Fairuza Balk, Rachel True, and Neve Campbell the witches. Hardcore fans maybe annoyed the gothic element seems to have disappeared, however this is The Craft for a new generation.

There is an iconic line from the 1996…“We are the weirdos, mister”. There is another Easter egg from that film when Hannah has a picture of Nancy Downs (Balk). There is no clue to her connection, is she related? Let the ritual begin!

In Blumhouse’s continuation of the cult hit The Craft, an eclectic foursome of aspiring teenage witches get more than they bargained for as they lean into their newfound powers.

Written and directed by Zoe Lister-Jones, the film stars Cailee Spaeny, Gideon Adlon, Lovie Simone, Zoey Luna, Nicholas Galitzine, with Michelle Monaghan and David Duchovny.

The Craft: Legacy will be in UK and Irish cinemas in time for Halloween, on 28th October.
