Who is Moon Knight? Here’s what MarvelWiki blurb on the character…Marc Spector aka Moon Knight was a Jewish-American former US Marine turned C.I.A. agent. After leaving both organizations in disgrace he became a soldier of fortune. He was left for dead in the desert, on a mercenary mission in Egypt, where an idol of the Egyptian moon god; Khonshu, saved him and gave him his moon-based powers. Returning to the US with a newfound lease on life he took up multiple identities such as “Steven Grant”, and “Jake Lockley” to fight crime which, when alongside childhood trauma, also caused him to lapse back into Dissociative Identity Disorder.
Unless you know your Marvel comic books inside out Moon Knight will be unknown to many. That’s not a criticism to the character as the likes of The Guardians Of The Galaxy, Iron Fist, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones all were too. With the right marketing , more importangily the correct media you can make B list characters A listers.
Moon Knight is one of Marvel’s cult characters who has had multiple egos since his debut in 1975’s Werewolf by Night #32. He is Marc Spector, an ex-Marine turned mercenary whose multiple alter egos allow him to better fight crime. He’s also cabbie Jake Lockley and millionaire playboy Steven Grant.
The series is set to start filming in Budapest Hungary in March. You can watch Benson and Moorhead’s next film Synchronic in the UK from 29th January on Digital HD.
