Jill Cooper’s Rivals First Trailer Is ‘Addicted To Love’

Oh matron! Disney have released the First Trailer for Jilly Cooper‘s upcoming Disney+ series Rivals. On first impressions it’s naughty and everyone is ‘addicted to love’!

Are we surprised at how raunchy this series looks? No! Anyone who has read or knows about Dame Jilly’s books, they make Mills & Boon novel read like child’s play. Diving head first into the lives and secret lives of the elite and those who in the stately homes in the countryside. Sex, scandal and everything in-between, no stone is left unturned!

This 1980’s set drama cast is massive and includes Alex Hassell, Bella Maclean, Katherine Parkinson, David Tennant, Aidan Turner and Nafessa Williams.

In Rivals, we go back to 1986 and original eight-part blockbuster is based on the iconic novel by Dame Jilly Cooper, which is part of her Rutshire Chronicles series packed full of romantic entanglements, dastardly deals, sex and wit.

This trailer might only be 42 seconds long we do get a glimpse into the debauched world of the elites. Most of all first look at the rivalry between Lord Baddingham (Tenant) and Rupert Campbell-Black (Hassell).

Rivals is set against the backdrop of the drama, excess, and shocking antics of the power-grabbing social elite of 1980s England, “Rivals” delves headfirst into the ruthless world of independent television in 1986.

The rest of the cast for Rivals includes Emily Atack as Sarah Stratton (The Inbetweeners), Catriona Chandler as Caitlin O’Hara (Pistol, Enola Holmes 2). Oliver Chris as James Vereker (The Crown), Danny Dyer as Freddie Jones (EastEnders),Rufus Jones as Paul Stratton (Home). Lisa McGrillis as Valerie Jones (Maternal), Luke Pasqualino as Bas Baddingham (Skins), Claire Rushbrook as Lady Monica Baddingham (Ali & Ava) and Victoria Smurfit as Maud O’Hara (Bloodlands).

Rivals is set to be released later in 2024 on Disney+ and Hulu in the U.S.
