Janelle Monae Trapped And Enslaved In New Antebellum Trailer

Antebellum (2020)

When Lionsgate released the First Trailer for Antebellum, we first asked, “what’s it all about“. It teased our curiosities nicely, today we have a brand new Second Trailer. The latest promo shed’s some light on the upcoming horror, that sees Janelle Monae trapped and enslaved in the 19th Century!

Very rarely do get a film promotion that intrigues us as well as keeping their cards close to their chests. Many films sadly reveal too much in the trailers, how refreshing this one doesn’t.

Monae plays Veronica Henleyย  who suddenly finds herself trapped in 19th Century American Deep South, Antebellum andย  slavery is still legal. The nightmare starts in modern day when she is kidnapped by unknown person in a car. Only to awaken and greeted by a Confederate general tells her her old live is over and now she’s a slave.

A time travelling horror film on the cards! Besides the nightmare of enslavement their seems to be something wicked is happening in the background. Something out of Eli Roth playbook ala Hostel? A mind-binding mystery!
