Jackie Chan Meets His Match In The Shadow’s Edge UK Trailer
Is there anything Chinese legend Jackie Chan fears? Next month Trinity Cine Asia will release actioner The Shadow’s Edge and in the UK Trailer, Mr Chan might be about to me his match.
The film marks the second film Chan has made with Larry Yang, the other being Ride On (2023). The Shadow’s Edge also stars Zhang Zi Feng, Tony Leung Ka-fai, Ci Sha, Jun, and Zhou Zheng Jie. This looks cliched when it comes to the action thriller genre and one that will hope the star power brings the film success….
Synopsis:
Get ready for the latest film from the legendary Jackie Chan, as he takes on a notorious criminal gang, unlike anything heโs faced before.
When a cyber-criminal gang disappears with billions, evading capture by outsmarting the Policeโs formidable โSky Eyeโ surveillance system, they desperately enlist the help of a legend. Wong Tak-Chung (Jackie Chan), a retired tracking expert, mentors rookie officer He Qiuguo (Zhang Zifeng,ย Aftershock, Upcoming) and rebuilds an elite surveillance unit. Their mission: to track down the elusive โWolf King,โ Fu Longsheng (Leung Ka Fai Tony,ย Election, Cold War), the mastermind behind the heist. As the police close in, the thieves spring a trap of their own. Brains clash, loyalties are tested, and the ultimate cat-and-mouse game is about to beginโฆ
From award-winning writer-director Larry Yang (Ride On, Mountain Cry), Jackie Chan and Leung Ka-Fai Tony reunite for the first time in twenty years, following their collaboration onย The Myth. Now, the 71-year-old Chan plays a retired police officer, a role that continues his long-standing portrayal of law enforcement figures on screen.ย The Shadowโs Edgeย references elements of hisย Police Storyย character while offering a contemporary take on the “veteran cop” archetype.
Leung Ka-Fai Tony has dominated the screen throughout his varied career. Never repeating the same role twice, he was inspired to step back into portraying a villain in this updated, modernised take onย Eye in the Sky. At 67, the four-time Hong Kong Film Awardsโ Best Actor winner, who has largely focused on arthouse films, achieves a new breakthrough with this highly demanding role, showing both the psychology and physicality of this elite criminal.
The Shadow’s Edge will arrive in UK and Irish cinemas from 3rd October.
