In an exclusive from Deadline, it has been confirmed that Jack Reynor (Midsommar) will be joining the cast of Lee Cronin‘s upcoming The Mummy. The movie is set to start production in Ireland and Spain soon, with Cronin’s own company, Doppelgängers, producing the project.

The movie is an Atomic Monster/Blumhouse production for New Line and the synopsis, at this time, remains under wraps. All that can be confirmed is that Reynor will not be playing the titular role and that this movie will be the first collaboration between these two companies, helmed by James Wan and Jason Blum respectively.

Reynor also has multiple projects in the works which include the second season of Prime Video’s Citadel and a reunion with director John Carney’s for the musical comedy Power Ballad.

Cronin’s most notable movie so far was 2023’s Evil Dead Rise, grossing $147M worldwide. Also noteworthy is his 2019 directorial debut The Hole in the Ground, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival to critical acclaim.

James Wan, Jason Blum and John Keville will be producing the film with Michael Clear and Judson Scott acting as executive producers. Alayna Glasthal is the executive overseeing the project on behalf of Atomic Monster.

The Mummy is scheduled for release on 17th April, 2026.
