Interview: Taz Skylar on Tackling Complex Characters and High-Stakes Action in Cleaner

Taz Skylar takes on Daisy Ridley in Cleaner

To celebrate the release of Cleaner, coming to Sky Cinema next month, we had the pleasure of chatting to star Taz Skylar about the explosive action thriller.

A gripping British action thriller directed by Martin Campbell, known for Casino Royale and Goldeneye. The film has its world premiere in the United States in February 2025 and is set to release in the United Kingdom on Sky Cinema this May.

The story follows Joanna “Joey” Locke, portrayed by Daisy Ridley (Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Magpie), an ex-soldier turned window cleaner. While working on a high-rise building in London, Joey becomes entangled in a hostage situation orchestrated by radical activists aiming to expose corporate corruption. Among the activists is Noah Santos, played by Taz Skylar (Boiling Point, Gassed Up), whose extremist actions escalate the crisis. Clive Owen (Children of Men, Inside Man) also stars in the film, which has already been compared to such action thrillers as Die Hard.

We sat down with Skylar to discuss his roles as Noah Santos, exploring the complexities of his character and the challenges of portraying a radical activist in a high-stakes environment. Skylar shared insights into his preparation for the role and his experience working alongside Daisy Ridley in this intense, action-packed film that audiences are sure to get a big kick out of.
