Indiana Jones 5 Set for Summer 2021 Release
Indiana Jones is back! Or at least by July 9, 2021 he will be, as Harrison Ford will reprise the role for the fifth time, donning his hat and whip and investigating more archaeological finds. His latest outing, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, polarised fans back in 2008, which could explain why development has been so slow. Combined with issues of writers and attached producers, the Spielberg-directed and George Lucas-backed film seems on the right track to return fans to the world of Indiana Jones, and one that has hopefully learned from the mistakes of the fourth outing.

What Do We Know About Indy 5?
Harrison Ford may be 77 when he returns as our whip-wielding hero, but that doesn’t mean we won’t get a strong story. Marion Ravenwood actress Karen Allen and Indy’s son, Shia LaBeouf, are notedly not being brought back to reprise their roles, while Sallah actor John Rhys-Davies has expressed an interest in returning, but not in a cameo role. Crystal Skull writer David Koepp has been pipped as writing the film, while Solo: A Star Wars Story writer Jonathan Kasdan (who happens to be the son of the writer of Raiders of the Lost Ark) will punch the script up – meaning he’ll be writing for Harrison Ford’s two most prominent roles.
Production remains tight-lipped over what a story may revolve around – or simply the intricacies haven’t been decided just yet. But, what we can guarantee is that the story will send Indy searching for lost or hidden treasure – because that’s just what fans want.

Why Do We Love Archaeological Mysteries?
Excitement for the latest flick isn’t surprising, given how popular the excitement and mystery of investigating old temples is. Lara Croft continues to be rebooted, with Alicia Vikander playing the role made famous by Angelina Jolie in the 2018 reboot, while real life saw us investigating an unopened sarcophagus in Egypt last winter.
