Hysteria Lurks In Isolation Horror Darkness in Tenement 45 Trailer
Fear and hysteria lurk in the timely, pandemic-set isolation indie horror/thriller Darkness in Tenement 45. Wood Entertainment have released the film’s trailer as power, corruption, and generational divide collide.
Nicole Groton’s film certainly a timely affair not just with Covid-19 but also if you live in the USA, with your country’s election too.
In this one we find ourselves in the 1950s, following the residents of a NYC tenement building trapped inside in response to the threat of a biological attack during the Cold War. With supplies dwindling, paranoia sets in, leaving a troubled teenager in a desperate fight for survival against the self-appointed, deranged leader to save what remains of her makeshift family.
Joanna has been living with her overbearing Aunt Martha, in a low-income NYC tenement building ever since a violent outburst left her fighting a force that she can only describe as the “darkness.” Little did she know that weeks after moving in, a biological threat from the Soviet Union would leave the building boarded up and the tenants locked inside. With food dwindling and Martha’s controversial role as leader expanding, Joanna rallies the children in an attempt to save the building. Tensions come to a violent head when Martha delves into Joanna’s past and Joanna struggles to keep the darkness from overtaking her entirely.
The film stars Nicole Tompkins, Casey Kramer, Keyon Bowman, David Labiosa and Melissa Macedo.
Darkness in Tenement 45 aka DT45 on Digital/VOD platforms from 3rd November. No word if the Digital release will also be in the UK and Ireland too.
