Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows Part 1 NOT 3D….Offical
Its seems now every big blockbuster including animation we seem to assume it will be released in 3D formatย and so far the big movies have went that way but HARRY POTTER POTTER & THE DEATHLY HALLOWS PART 1 wont be 3D!
In the past 2 hours Ive just received an offical statement from Warner Bros UK will be in 2D format only. I dont know about you guys and especially Harry Potter maniacs Im actually glad they’ve decided not to opt for the 3d post production which would have destroyed the integrity of the movie as well as franchise andย opt to keep a high qaulity movie. I hope with Warner deciding to do this its the first step towards film studios realising 3d isnt as spectacular as they want you to beleive, its simply an old format that has been modernised to simply dry our pockets out of our money for there need for pure profit. The econimy worldwide is still in a bad shape and maybe this is the studios starting to realise the overall demand is not there and its time for the money to be pumped into making better qaulity movies!
You wonder if studios thought about things “does this movie really need to be 3d?”, if they asked that question maybe movies franchises like Jamesย Bondย would in the studio rather in development hell waiting for a financial backer.
Fingers crossed next years part 2 will follow suit as will other upcoming big blockbusters! Part one will be out November 19th.
Here’s the offical statement:
For Immediate Release
ย
Statement from Warner Bros. regarding โHarry Potter and the Deathly Hallows โ Part 1โ:
ย
Warner Bros. Pictures has made the decision to release โHarry Potter and the Deathly Hallows โ Part 1โ in 2D, in both conventional and IMAX theaters, as we will not have a completed 3D version of the film within our release date window. Despite everyoneโs best efforts, we were unable to convert the film in its entirety and meet the highest standards of quality. We do not want to disappoint fans who have long anticipated the conclusion of this extraordinary journey, and to that end, we are releasing our film day-and-date on November 19, 2010, as planned. We, in alignment with our filmmakers, believe this is the best course to take in order to ensure that our audiences enjoy the consummate โHarry Potterโ experience.
ย
Producer David Heyman said, โFor 10 years, we have worked alongside Alan Horn and the studio, whose priority has always been to preserve the integrity of Jo Rowlingโs books as we have adapted them to the screen, and this decision reflects that commitment.โ
ย
Director David Yates added, โThis decision, which we completely support, underscores the fact that Warner Bros. has always put quality first.โ
ย
As scheduled, on July 15, 2011, we will deliver to conventional and IMAX theaters our final installment of the film franchise, โHarry Potter and the Deathly Hallows โ Part 2,โ in both 2D and 3D formats.ย
