Goon: Last Of The Enforcers Drops The First Trailer

goon-2
Seann William Scott‘s 2012 Goon was an unexpected hit. On paper, it may not have looked a success but for an independent movie and some fantastic reviews gave it the credit deserved. It’s been nearly 5 (6 in USA/Canada) years since the sleeper hit was on our big screens but next year, Doug Glatt is coming back! Today we get a first look at Goon: Last Of The Enforcers Trailer and Doug  is twice as hard as the first time.

Here in UK&Ireland  Football (Soccer to some of you may call it), Rugby rule the roost when it comes to sports when it comes American played sports is a bit of a different kettle of fish. I’m not saying there’s not a fanbase, there is fans but not at the same level as Stateside probably also because we don’t compete at the same level. The closest sport will be Ice Hockey and  we have a British League and many folks can relate to the sport.

As we can see in the above trailer our lovable rogue Doug ‘The Thug’ Glatt is forced out of retirement back playing in the minor leagues, Halifax Highlanders. The info on the actual plot  we don’t know a lot on nor does this trailer provide any indications either. This once again seems to capture the Canadian Hockey culture and the interaction between the players looks nuts. It looks like Doug is an insurance salesman but the call to head back to the ice-rink is strong . He is an enforcer by name enforcer by large, Doug needs to beat up a few goons it’s in his blood to do so.

Goon: Last Of The Enforcers marks the directorial feature debut for Jay Baruchel who is also Doug’s friend in the movie. He has that hard task of getting over the Sequel hurdles and proves it’s a worthy entry and not many sports comedies to cater the masculine hardcore fans with heartfelt drama off course laughs.

This is actually  the Canadian trailer for Goon:Last Of The Enforcers and at this stage we don’t know when in 2017 this will be out in UK&Ireland. It will be out in Canada 17th March 2017 and Liev Schreiber, Alison Pil, Kim Coates, Marc-André Grondin all returning with Wyatt Russell, Elisha Cuthbert.
