GFF 2012: Dexter Fletcher’s WILD BILL UK Trailer

From Television’s Press Gang, to Guy Ritchie Gangster Flicks to Band of Brothers to more recently D’Artagnan’s Father you could say Dexter Fletcher has been there done that. But on March 30th you can say he’s done it all when his directorial debut WILD BILL arrives in UK&Irish cinemas. Premièring last year at San Sebastian Film Festival the film has left every other festival with positive to some places rave reviews including London Film Festival.
Out on parole after 8 years inside, Bill Hayward returns home to find his now 11 and 15-year old sons abandoned by their mother and fending for themselves. Unwilling to play Dad, his arrival brings them to the attention of social services. With the danger of being put into care looming, Dean forces his Dad to stay by threatening to grass him up for dealing. Dean soon connects with Jimmy and through this new bond starts to realize what he’s been missing. He has a family and a place in the world, but when Jimmy gets into trouble with Bill’s old cohorts, he quickly has to decide what kind of Dad he wants to be. A good one, or a free one.
For a first time directing job Dexter Fletcher has pulled together a very impressive cast which should pull some more bums on seats, Charlie Creed-Miles (Hereafter, Harry Brown), Will Poulter (Son of Rambow), Liz White (The Woman in Black, Life on Mars) Andy Serkis (Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Tintin), Jaime Winstone (Made in Dagenham, Anuvahood), Jason Flemyng (X-Men: First Class, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels), Olivia Williams (An Education, Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll), Leo Gregory (Stoned, Tristan & Isolde), Iwan Rheon (Misfits) and newcomers Sammy Williams (Attack the Block) and Charlotte Spencer.
