George MacKay Chases Life In First Teaser Trailer For 'Mission'

What would you do if you only had one week to live? Attempt to reclaim your life? That’s what George MacKay (1917, Femme) is trying to do in the first teaser trailer just released for the upcoming drama thriller Mission.

Written and directed by Paul Wright, the film is a darkly compelling and emotionally charged portrait of one man’s attempt to reclaim his life. It marks the second collaboration between Wright and MacKay after 2013’s For Those in Peril, which was BAFTA-nominated for Outstanding Debut.

Alongside MacKay, the cast is rounded out by Rosy McEwen (Blue Jean, Black Mirror), Emun Elliott (Game of Thrones, Prometheus), and Emma Naomi (Bridgerton, Professor T).

Synopsis | Adrift, Dylan (MacKay) gives himself one week and a mission: to truly live before he dies. Transcendence gives way to transgression as Dylan pushes himself and the world around him to the very limits in the hope of finding meaning, connection, and salvation.

Blue Finch Film is handling worldwide sales on the film, which was produced by Kate Byers and Linn Waite (Early Day Films), Alex Thiele (65 Wilding Films), Marie-Elena Dyche (Meraki Films), and Lowri Roberts (Rapt). Maisie Williams (Rapt) served as an associate producer for Rapt. The film is also backed by BBC Film, Screen Scotland, and Ffilm Cymru Wales, with funding from the National Lottery.

Mission is set to have its World Premiere at the Edinburgh International Film Festival on 15th August. A UK cinema release has not yet been announced.
