FrightFest 2016 : Zombie Apocalypse Goes ‘Mobile’ In Cell UK trailer

One time we where told a certain fruit was the future of mobile phones, in the UK trailer for Cell the future is ‘Zombie’ as your mobile phone turns you into a phone induced apocalypse! Lock ‘n’ load and turn off that mobile!

After years of development hell and a false start at FrightFest Glasgow earlier this year, The long awaited movie adaptation of Stephen King‘s 2006 Novel is finally getting a UK release. With the focus of Stephen King‘s novel book to film adaptation Dark Tower with movie adaptation of It, his vision of the apocalypse showing amongst the chaos classic King Tropes.

In this highly anticipated adaptation of Stephen King’s bestselling apocalyptic thriller, John Cusack (1408), Samuel L. Jackson (Django Unchained) and Isabelle Fuhrman (Orphan) star as one of the few survivors of a murderous epidemic fending off bloodthirsty predators who have been dangerously re-programmed to kill by a mysterious worldwide phone signal.

Also starring Stacy Keach (American History X) and Lloyd Kaufman (Tromeo and Juliet), produced by Richard Saperstein (Seven, 1408) and Michael Benaroya (Margin Call, Lawless) and directed by Tod ‘Kip’ Williams (Paranormal Activity 2, The Door in the Floor), Cell is a frightening new story from The Master of Horror.

Who needs Rick Grimes when you have Samuel L.Jackson?!It’s a film that’s had a troubled past, one that started away back in 2012 originally mean’t to be Eli Roth behind the lens. Paranormal Activity 2 director Tod Williams finally got the gig and the film has had been trying to get released since 2014.

The ‘Pulse’ signal turning victims in to zombie like  is an interesting premise. However with the film been in the development void for so long  may welter those anticipations from those  who have been wanting to see this since day one. it doesn’t look perfect but having it premier at Horror Channel FrightFest on 25th August might be the film’s best hope for a big audience.
