First Look Poster For I Wanna Dance With Somebody

Whitney Houston fans, Christmas this year Sony Pictures will release the official biopic I Wanna Dance With Somebody in UK and Irish cinemas. Today Sony tease us with the first look Poster for that upcoming film.

As you’ll see from the artwork below, the image replicates an iconic look Houston had during her time when she was at the top of her game. Off course fans will recognise the film’s title is named after her top hit of the same name which was released in 1987.

Star Wars: Rise Of The Skywalker star Naomie Ackie will play Houston. With six Grammy’s and numerous other awards and considered a musical diva, Ackie has big shoes to fill. The next stage fans will want to see some footage before they try to judge anything…

I Wanna Dance with Somebody is an upcoming feature about the late musical icon, Whitney Houston. Naomi Ackie stars as Whitney Houston in the musical biopic, which is based on the epic life and music of the iconic singer. Directed by Kasi Lemmons and written by Academy Award® Nominee Anthony McCarten, the film will take audiences on an emotional, energetic journey through Houston’s career and music.

The  film also co- stars  Ashton Sanders as Houston’s husband Bobby Brown, Stanley Tucci as Clive Davis, Tamara Tunie as Houston’s mother Cissy, Clarke Peters as Houston’s father John and Nafessa Williams as Houston’s former assistant and creative director Robyn Crawford.

I Wanna Dance With Somebody will be in UK and Irish cinemas from 23rd December (21st December in the USA)
