Amy Liptrot’s bestselling novel, The Outrun will be coming to UK and Irish cinemas soon. The film will be the English language directorial debut for German filmmaker Nora Fingscheidt, today Studiocanal unveil first look image.
The film stars Saoirse Ronan as Rona and is based on Liptrot‘s own memoir. A story of an addict fresh out of rehab who heads back to her homeland after a decade away. Back to the Orkney islands reconnecting with that land as much as nature on her road to recovery.
Fingscheidt‘s previous film was the award winning System Crasher which our reviews editor Scott J.Davis loved. With massive praise for the film’s young lead Helena Zengel is “simply magnificent throughout, as is this sharp, important film.” Ronan over the years has missed out in many awards could this partnership see her finally win a Oscar?
