Fear Comes To The Surface In What Lies Below UK Trailer

Fear comes to the surface in the UK Trailer for Signature Entertainment’s upcoming sci-fi thriller What Lies Below. Braden R. Duemmler‘s directorial feature debut when a socially awkward young girl returns home to find her mum has a new hunky boyfriend come fiancée. But not all what it seems, is he even human?

Last month we posted the U.S version of the trailer and once again this has a big Under The Skin vibe to it. That of course excites us a lot and from the footage of the trailer whoever he is, he has ,other and daughter hypnotised by good looks. Is that a predatorial thing his species has or simply he’s blessed with those good looks?

In this one Ema Horvath plays Libby a young woman who returns home after several months. Only to be greeted by John Smith, her mother (Mena Suvari) new fiancée. He has the charm, the wit and intelligence, perfect physique, but is  too perfect to be actually be human?

This may not be Glasgow like in Under The Skin, the setting is the lakeside does Mummy’s soon to be husband reside from the dark depths of that lake?

A Quiet Place meets Species. Mena Suvari faces aquatic horrors in this tense, original and sexy sci-fi thriller.

Sixteen-year-old Libby returns from summer camp to the surprise introduction of her Mum’s chiselled fiancée, John Smith, who emerges from the backyard lake. When John ignites an inappropriate curiosity in Libby her suspicions are escalated when, one night, she wakes to a piercing, amber light from the depths of the lake outside. She spots John on the shore, basking in the luminance, until he walks into the water, completely submerges and then…. disappears. Libby quickly uncovers his true nature and sinister motive, but will she be able to protect her Mother who clings to his infectious charm.

The film also stars Haskiri Velazquez, and Trey Tucker. What Lies Below will be released in the UK and Ireland on Digital HD format from 22nd February 2021.
