Fast & Furious Franchise To End In Two Movies Time

It felt like it was an ‘never ending’ story, but all things must come to an end like the Fast & Furious franchise. Universal Pictures have said there will be two more movies with Fast & Furious 11 the last one.

Deadline announced the news late last night, that the long running franchise will end after 20 years. With Justin Lin returning to direct those final films.

Lin returned to the Franchise to direct the now delayed 9th movie which is due out May 2021. The movies release delayed due to the current Covid-19 crisis. Like the news on the ending of the franchise, it’s no surprise the filmmaker who directed majority of franchise movies is back. You could say in Dominic Torretto’s words, Lin is ‘family’ plus he made the franchise the highest earning franchise for Universal too.

It’s too early to say what the story will be on these two movies, we wouldn’t be surprised if both are part of a two part story. It’s also a tad early to say when production may start, especially when the 9th movie new release date is not guaranteed. What the report does state along with Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel, and Sung Kang all set to return. The list doesn’t include Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham, however various reports do suggest the pair will return. Despite the falling out of Diesel and Johnson, Universal Pictures haven’t confirmed or denied their return.

The news of the end of The Fast & Furious movie franchise doesn’t mean the end , there still could be spin-offs. The Hobbs & Shaw spin-off may have not critically been a success, the box office returns said differently. We do expect to be more sequels and wouldn’t be surprised if there’s cameos from Dom’s family.

In Fast & Furious 9 aka Fast Saga, Dom’s quiet life is shattered when he must confront  sins of his past. Coming face to face with his forsaken brother Jakob (John Cena) which sees them battle around the globe. From Tokyo to Edinburgh, reunited with old foes and old friends resurrected.  Could outer space been in order too?!!!
