Eli Roth’s Cabin Fever Remake Gets First Trailer

Horror film remakes if they aren’t one of the big franchises it seems the reception for a remake is very, but Eli Roth‘s Cabin Fever is one franchise that has a fanbase to match some of the big time players. 14 years after the first film was released a remake is coming and today we have the first trailer.
Like a virus no film or film franchise is now safe from the pandemic called remakes, occasionally we get a reprieve called a sequel but even it is sometimes unwanted. Cabin Fever is one of those appreciated much more by horror fans but it seems director Travis Zariwny (aka Travis Z) may have created a like for like remake.
Fresh out of college, a group of five friends retreat to a remote cabin in the woods for one last week of partyingโonly to become snacks for a gruesome, flesh-eating virus. Whatโs surprising are the ingenious new deaths, which offer a fresh spin on a horror-comedy milestone.
Fans of the original will see alot of familiarity with this trailer leading some to think this is nothing but another pointless remake. Whilst many remakes find themselves on the big screen milking the name of the film dry Cabin Fever is taking the direct to DVD route (limited U.S cinematic release) which should save the film’s grace from a bigger general public mauling. Keeping it small will target the exact demographic and with Roth himself an executive producer/Writer with Zariwny adding his own touches, Roth has said to have ‘Been Blown Away‘ for what he seen of the new version.
It’s sometimes unfair to judge a film especially one like this which has a targeted audience who know what they like and don’t care what outsiders think (and rightly so).
Cabin Fever doesn’t have a UK distributor or release date but if your a American fan it will be available on 12th February to own. The film stars Gage Golightly, Matthew Daddario, Nadine Crocker, Dustin Ingram, Samuel Davis, Louise Linton, and Randy Schulman.
