With the first trailer just around the corner we get our first look at the film’s first stylish international poster and our one man army is in the shadows.
Sadly the great Edward Woodward who played the iconic titular character in the cult TV show is no longer with us and now the baton of the retire ex-military officer atoning for his past sins helping the helpless now falls to Denzel Washington. Now former Black ops faking his death for a quieter life but quietly helping as a vigilante who comes to the aide of an young prostitute (Chloe Grace Moretz) actions that find him in trouble with the local Russian Mafia, even rogue CIA agents who want to kill him too.
Antoine Fuqua is in charge of bringing The Equalizer into the 21st century and apart from Washington playing the lead role who seems to be the type of character who could go into a crowded room and take everyone out no problem. He looks perfect for this role and Washington as we know can play that ruthless character willing to do anything but also have a conscience at the same time. The poster is somehow a homage to the original TV Show logo which we saw Woodward’s silhouette enough to know who he is and he’s lurking in the shadows keeping eye on those criminals. You can see in the new poster it’s Denzel Washington’s silhouette , check the original logo below then the new poster.
The Equalizer is set for 10th October release in UK.
