December At Arrow Video Has Fast Cars and “That Scene”
We’re near the end of another month, 2026 entered its final months. Those good folks over at Arrow Video, Christmas will be coming early with a festive slasher, David Lynch on 4K UHD, a quintessential New York romcom, Steve McQueen burning rubber, Sammo Hung martial arts madness, and a 1970s sci-fi classic.
This December, Arrow Video present David Lynch’s Blue Velvet. One day in the all-American town of Lumberton, college student Jeffrey Beaumont (Kyle MacLachlan) finds a severed ear. Compelled to dig further with the help of Sandy (Laura Dern), Jeffrey embarks on a journey into the dark side of Lumberton, where he is exposed to the sadistic, the psychotic and the strange that exists behind closed doors. His investigation first brings him to nightclub singer Dorothy Vallens (Isabella Rossellini) and then on a collision course with Frank Booth (Dennis Hopper), the frightening epicentre of small-town evil.

Next up is seasonal slasher Black Christmas. As the festive break begins, the residents of a sorority house find themselves tormented by a series of obscene phone calls. But when one of the young women disappears, the disturbing messages give way to something far more sinister. With a relentless killer hiding in plain sight and panic mounting inside the house, the survivors must confront an unseen evil before Christmas comes to a bloody end. The release includes a host of archival extras including two documentaries.

Next it’s the film that gave us that scene, When Harry Met Sally starring Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan. Harry Burns (Crystal) and Sally Albright (Ryan) share a ride to New York City. Initially, Harry’s bravado and Sally’s innocence clash, particularly over the question “can men and women be friends?” Despite this, over many years of chance encounters, a deep friendship develops between the two. As their connection blossoms, a sudden lapse of judgment forces both Harry and Sally to answer once and for all: can men and women truly just be friends? The release includes a host of archival and newly filmed extras.

Fasten your seatbelt, Bullitt is back! When the star witness for a Senate hearing on organized crime is killed before taking the stand, federal prosecutor Walter Chalmers (Robert Vaughn) blames Lt. Frank Bullitt (Steve McQueen), the man tasked with keeping the witness safe. Now Bullitt is out to find the triggermen and bring down the kingpin behind them. But nothing is quite what it seems and as he digs deeper into the case, he himself becomes a target. The release includes a brand new 4K restoration from the original 35mm camera negative and a host of extras.

This December, take a ride with martial arts legend Sammo Hung in Pedicab Driver. Lo Tung (Hung) and his friend Malted Candy (Max Mok, Once Upon a Time in China II-V) are lowly pedicab drivers looking for love in old Macau, where life is hard and one brawl leads to another. But when they each meet their perfect love match, their romantic dreams hit a wall of harsh reality as both women work for cruel and abusive bosses. Now Lo and Malted Candy must figure out how to win their ladies’ hearts while helping them escape the chains of societal slavery. The release features a brand new 4K restoration from the original negative and newly filmed extras.

Finally the month takes us into the future, with Logan’s Run. The year is 2274; overpopulation and wars have ravaged the earth. The survivors live a carefree, hedonistic existence in Domed City, a hermetically sealed, shiny metropolis ruled by a supercomputer, but under one condition: life must end at the age of thirty. Those who attempt to flee their fate are known as “runners”, desperately searching for a legendary Sanctuary somewhere outside the city. The hunter becomes the hunted when Logan 5 (Michael York), one of the lethal Sandmen assigned to track down the fugitives, is forced to turn runner himself. His only hope of survival is to find Sanctuary, with the aid of rebel girl Jessica 6 (Jenny Agutter). The 2-disc edition features a brand new 4K restoration from the 35mm camera negative, new extras and previously unreleased interviews.
