Charlie Day Plans Revenge In I Want You Back Trailer

It’s hard to move on when you’ve been dumped, even more distressing when the other has already moved on. In I Want You Back, Charlie Day and Jenny Slate haven’t moved on yet. Amazon have released the official Trailer for the upcoming rom-com, as the pair plot revenge. But whose arms will they be running into?

When Amazon sent us this trailer, automatically I thought of the Jackson Five song of the same name. Ironically that song is the song played in this promo, I wonder if that song will become The Beastie Boys Sabotage eventually?

Day and Slate are Emma and Peter both just been dumped. Strangers when they met, the pair bond instantly all thanks to their circumstances. The pair notice their exes are happily with romances, the pair join forces to plot revenge.

I found myself in this place several years ago, for me ended up a blessing in disguise. This trailer ticks the boxes for Rom-Coms, it also looks like it will have some uncomfortable funny moments too. Life is awkward, love also works in mysterious ways too…

Peter (Charlie Day) and Emma (Jenny Slate) are total strangers, but when they meet, one thing instantly bonds them: they were both unexpectedly dumped by their respective partners, Anne (Gina Rodriguez) and Noah (Scott Eastwood), on the same weekend. As the saying goes, “misery loves company,” but their commiseration turns into a mission when they see on social media that their exes have happily moved on to new romances, Anne with Logan (Manny Jacinto) and Noah with Ginny (Clark Backo).

Terrified that, in their 30s, they have lost their shot at happily ever after and horrified at the prospect of having to start over, Peter and Emma hatch a desperate plot to win the loves of their lives back. Each will do whatever it takes to put an end to their exes’ new relationships and send them running back to their arms.

The film also stars Scott Eastwood, Manny Jacinto, Clark Backo, Gina Rodriguez, Mason Gooding, Dylan Gelula, Jami Gertz, Isabel May and Luke David Blumm. I Want You Back will arrive on Prime Video from 11th February 2022.
